Our technology teams are responsible for the Bank’s entire information technology (“IT”) infrastructure, and the development, implementation, and protection of the software required to support all of the Bank’s businesses. We move over EUR 1.6 trillion across the Bank's platforms, support thousands of trading desks, and enable millions of banking transactions, share trades and emails every day.

With award-winning mobile banking apps and trading systems, our technology platforms help Deutsche Bank deliver high quality products to clients. Overview:

You’ll be joining the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) division which comprises the sub-divisions of Corporate Finance (CF) and Global Transaction Banking (GTB). With business in all continents, the application environment is complex and the handling of its data requires highly skilled staff.  The creation of an overarching Chief Data Office (CDO) within Deutsche Bank and the role of a Chief Data Architect (CDA) for each division underlines the importance of data.

You will represent the CIB Chief Data Architect in Dublin and intensively cooperate with colleagues across the DataLab in Dublin. You should be self-motivated and passionate about data and digital improvements. You will be reporting directly into the Chief Data Architect based in Germany.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Co-operating with the DataLab team in all kinds of data mining and project activities
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for cross divisional important projects in relation to data architectural issues and data mining activities to facilitate analysis tasks for the CDA
  • Providing data analysis of existing CIB/GTB systems in relation to Reference Data Services (RDS)
  • Developing a data strategy and a conceptual data model for CIB/GTB
  • Providing support regarding data delivery for the introduction of a golden source for CIB/GTB for parties, products, instruments and common reference data
  • Ensuring co-ordination and support of groups in the business, who need data architectural help
  • Co-operating with the Reference Data Manager who links into the Bank-wide Reference Data Services programme
  • Performing data oriented tasks for the adoption of all CIB systems across locations to RDS

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Educated to Bachelor’s degree level with a concentration in Information Technology (IT) or Banking (or equivalent) or good experience in the Financial Services or IT industry
  • Previous experience in data modelling, business intelligence, analytics, canonical data model definition, data governance, data integration, data migration etc
  • Knowledge of software development and database implementation plus familiarity with database design tools like Power Designer (beneficial)
  • Understanding of business use cases and the ability to define data domains that will structure multi-dimensional modelling
  • Knowledge of workflows, systems and applications within a complex environment
  • Basic understanding of transaction banking and corporate finance products, knowledge in core banking
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, Visio and Powerpoint
  • Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle) and BIG databases (Hadoop) (beneficial)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work in an international environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Creative and pro-active, able to work under pressure
  • Self-motivated team player with a service and customer focus
